Imaginative force of the sun-deity and, through that power, it should reestablish life to the core of the dead individual.
The scarab was viewed as a reflection the celestial cycle, and as addressing the possibility of rebirth. The Egyptian god Khepri Ra as the rising sun, was frequently portrayed as a scarab insect or as a man with a scarab head. It was supposed to restore life to the heart of the dead person (You can use that as a metaphor as you see fit).
